PAC - Frequently Asked Questions

Updated 24 May 2007

I need to speak to my PAC Adviser, but they are unavailable - what can I do?

Here at BPP we have a team of licensed PAC Advisers and Assessors therefore if you find that you are unable to contact your Adviser, please contact the PAC coordinator who would be happy to arrange for another member of the team to contact you.

I have misplaced my candidate guide/APD Resource book, can I get a replacement?

Yes, this is no problem at all however there will be a charge of £30 per book. Please contact the PAC Coordinator.

I am nearing the end of my current support contract and I still have fields outstanding – what are my options?

You have two options;

(1) We can arrange for your completed fields to be banked with the CIPD and remove you from the programme, however, if you decide to recommence your CIPD Qualification via PAC you will need to be re-registered with a full diagnostic meeting taking place and the current fees levied.

(2) You can extend your support for a further 6 or 12 months depending on your requirements. We advise that you speak to your Adviser regarding the length of additional time so an appropriate action plan can be put into place. Additional charges will be incurred for this extended support. If you only have APD to complete then you can extend your support period for 3 months if this is sufficient.

Note: the support period includes the assessment of any outstanding portfolios/reports

What if I have a complaint – who do I contact?

In the first instance, please consult your PAC Adviser. If however, you are unable to resolve the issue then please follow the grievance procedure in the PAC Candidate Guide (section ix)

I need to send in my portfolio/management report to my Adviser/to be assessed – who do I send it to?

Please send in your portfolio/Management Report to the PAC Coordinator at the Croydon address. They will confirm receipt by email.

I sent in my portfolio/report to be assessed – how long will it take?

As you are aware of the amount of work and time you have put into your portfolio I am sure that you will appreciate that assessing your portfolios will take time and that we need to schedule in our diaries time to undertake this.

As guidance we advised between 4-6 weeks for assessing your work (per field/elective).

I am completing the Applied Personal and Development field (management report) – what support can I expect?

You will have support from your PAC Adviser on completing this field, however, here at BPP we offer a half day workshop specifically for PAC Candidates at our training centre in Holborn, London. For more details (including dates) please refer to your Adviser or PAC Coordinator.

This will also allow you an opportunity to meet other candidates undertaking this programme.
