Another Winner for BPP Professional Education
Jane Wiggins, BIFM Business Manager and principal tutor at BPP Profession Education is proud to add her congratulations to BPP student Paul White who was awarded the BIFM Student of the Year 2007 at the BIFM Annual Gala Awards Dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel on 8th October 2007.

“There are considerable benefits to distance learning, not least of which is the flexibility it offers the student. The quality of the BPP BIFM workbooks and the support network offered by BPP make distance learning even more attractive in the current hectic business climate. Sometimes though there is a need for interaction with other students and tutors and the BPP Revision Workshops fulfil this need. Depending on where you are in the exam programme, the workshops offer the chance to learn exam techniques; to help you focus on critical areas; to reassure you that you are on track, boosting your confidence; to plan for the dreaded day; or just simply to share experiences with other students facing the same concerns. Wherever you are in the BIFM exam route, you should consider making the Revision Workshop an essential part of your success.”
Paul White, Project Manager, RAF Henlow: BIFM Student of the Year 2007

Paul White obtained two distinctions and one credit in the June 2007 BIFM Part 1 examinations after joining the distance learning study programme in July 2006. Paul works at RAF Henlow in Bedfordshire as a Project Manager. He has been an exemplary and diligent student submitting many practice papers for guidance. He also attended the May Revision Workshop in London. Jane is pleased to advise that Paul is continuing with his studies with BPP to sit the Part II exams in 2007/8.

Jane comments “it’s fantastic to see the students efforts rewarded at the Gala Dinner. Our former students, Alison Cousins and Judi Hall raised our awareness of the Awards, winning in 2004 and 2006 respectively. With over 100 students on our homestudy programme at any one time, it’s important to give them the best advice and support to help them achieve success in the national examinations. Whilst it’s tough to sit the complete set of examinations in one sitting, knowing that you may get the Award, can give that extra incentive to a student to really excel in their ability to respond to the Examiners tough questions.

BPP’s pass rates continue to be excellent, with the recent June series achieving a 97% pass rate for the Part I examinations and an 88% for the Part II examinations.
BIFM Certificate Presentations at the AGM on
24th September 2007

BIFM Completed Part 1 and Part 2 Students were presented with copies of their certificates at the AGM on 24th September at Barclays Bank plc Canary Wharf Headquarters. Valerie Everitt, Director of Professional Standards and Education at the BIFM gave a short presentation to the membership about the value of the Examination Certificate and the work and effort involved by working FMs in achieving successful completion of the three exams at Part 1 and the four exams at Part 2. Each student was presented their certificate by Ian Felder, the BIFM CEO.

BPP students collecting their certificate included Kem Eze, Karmian Wright, Rishi Sharma, Allison Cook, Mark Cheeseman, and Natasha McFadzean.

The presentation at the AGM gives an even greater recognition to this achievement, and we hope that the BIFM will continue to use this event in future years for student certificate presentations.

Attendees of the event also enjoyed an amusing yet alarming presentation by the futurist Dr James Bellini, as he gave us an insight into the nature of the built environment and the workplace of the future.

BIFM Student of the year award 16th October 2006
BPP student, Judi Hall, was awarded the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Student of the Year Award on the 16th October at a Gala evening. This is a first for a student studying Part 2 of the BIFM programme and is a fantastic achievement for Judi. BPP students continually deliver high pass rates which are consistently above the national average and with us having more BIFM students and exam entries than any other provider its no real surprise that this is the second time in three years a BPP student has been BIFM's student of the year.
